The Better Bursary Campaign is lead by Carers Trust. The aim of the campaign is to give young adult carers better access to the 16-19 Bursary, which provides funding to help with the costs of staying in learning, such as books, equipment and travel.

As part of the campaign, Carers Trust is looking for examples of learning providers with excellent practice in this area, as well as stories from young adult carers who have benefited from accessing the bursary. If you would like to share your experiences then please Sophie Parr at firstname.lastname@example.org for a proforma to complete.
The challenges that young adult carers typically face in accessing learning are summarised in this Guardian article from June 2015. Chloe’s story illustrates how the 16-19 Bursary could help her: http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/jun/30/easing-burden-young-carers
